Emma came to me after already having been disappointed with two potential logo designs. The thing is the other designers had done their best to recreate to the T precisely what Emma was asking for "An entire moon phase next to the Yoga Studio Carlisle, in shades of grey." What resulted was a series of dark, heavy, and cluttered designs leaving her frustrated. It was my job to help read between the lines, establish what Emma thought she wanted, and develop it into something that retained as much of that original idea as possible.
I wanted to use the idea of a moon phase but looked to scale the entire design down to its basics, so it was less cluttered. After much deliberation, I decided to integrate a single moon into the text. The look of the moon was hand-drawn to contrast the more studious font. Emma wanted it to be a serious business but still maintain the feel of something holistic and playful. Finally, I included a mint green texture to provide more flexibility in the branding, as well as giving the moon the ability to be removed from the text and used as an icon. After the rebrand was implemented, I was invited to the opening event to photograph some of the loyal clients enjoying the new look. These were then used across the studio's social media platforms to help showcase the look.
What the client thought
"I absolutely love the logo that Chelsea has designed for us, she listened to all my ideas and scaled it back. Giving me a brand that exceeded my expectations. Everyone at the studio has commented on nice It looks, and we sold out of our tee shirts on launch day!"
